Frequently asked questions

  • Your first appointment will focus on establishing rapport and provide a safe, non-judgmental space to explore a range of issues that may be troubling you. This will allow your therapist to get to know you better, start earning your trust, and explore your reason for pursuing therapy.

  • Psychotherapy will provide you with support, a platform to explore solutions to challenges, identify healthy ways to deal with depression, anxiety, unresolved childhood trauma, grief, stress, self- image issues, relationship challenges, and other life transitions.

Psychotherapy may also help you identify root problems to issues and resolve difficult emotions.

Psychotherapy also requires your active participation by taking part in setting goals, openness to create new habits, keeping your appointments, and writing down significant events, experiences, or feelings between sessions that you want to explore.

  • No. Medication management is ultimately your choice. Our psychotherapists do not prescribe any type of medication. However, clients may be recommended to follow up with a psychiatrist if their symptoms worsen to determine if medication can help stabilize mood.
